Virtualization is a process of abstraction of underlying computing resources from the user. Virtualization helps end user to focus on his task while system takes care of providing required resources. Virtualization can be used across all IT architectural layers such as server, machine, application and desktop. It is a value-addition provided by the service providers. Microsoft and TCS have formed a strategic alliance in the form of a Virtualization Centre of excellence (CoE) to be based in Chennai. The aim of CoE is to help customers experience the right approach to applying and managing virtualization process in their business environment. The idea is to leverage best of breed Microsoft technologies: Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and System centre Virtual Machine manager 2008.
