Indis Stack: Why was it developed?

 Why IndiaStack? 

  1. Building on its earlier e-governance projects, India launched  a comprehensive programme called digital India in 2015. The objective of digital india project is to deliver citizen services  digitally and online . To realize this, it has developed the following layered services. 

  2. IDENTITY LAYER :  where Aadhaar allows the authentication of identity on demand with the need for a physical presence, as well as e-KYC (verification), eSign (Digital Signature) and Digilocker ( online document depository) 

  3. PAYMENT LAYER : where the UPI is a single interoperable interface to bank accounts effectively granting everyone mobile access to the payment system and allowing financial transactions to take place instantly , on demand and in fiat money inside financial system

  4. DATA-SHARING LAYER: where data privacy is ensured and resident data facilitate financial transactions while moving efficiently and securely based on resident ( customer) consent

  1. Over the years, the above collection of layers, all offered as Public Good, has come to be known as India Stack. These layers, when connected allow many different and competing solutions to appear for technologically challenges , all capable of scaling up.  India Stack promotes a host of services- ranging from government to citizen, business to business, business to customer and citizen to to citizen services. India Stack is an example of how a unified, multi-layered set of digital platforms provided by the government , provides business, startups and developers significantly improved  financial, educational, health and other services.

In today’s time, Aadhaar, PAN, Passport and Driving License are such important documents, which can be a problem if they are lost. Without these documents, you cannot do any official work, so the safety of all these documents is necessary for all of us.

Use DigiLocker:

If you will use the digitally available locker facility, then you will not be afraid of losing these important documents. This facility is also known as DigiLocker.

What is digilocker: 

Digital Locker or DigiLocker is a kind of virtual locker launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2015. DigiLocker was launched under the Digital India campaign.

Valid everywhere:

With the help of DigiLocker, you can keep any of your important documents safe. Apart from this, if you use this locker, then you do not need to keep a hard copy either which means  it is valid everywhere.

How to use digilocker:

  1. To create an account, first go to digilocker.gov.in or digitallocker.gov.in.
  2. Then click Sign Up on the right side of the site.
  3. You will see that a new page will open where enter your mobile number.
  4. DigiLocker will send an OTP to the mobile number you have entered.
  5. Set username and password.
  6. In this way, you can use DigiLocker now.
How to upload aadhar and driving licence on DigiLocker?

How to save a document:

To save your document in the DigiLocker DigiLocker, you have to scan all your documents. If you want, you can also click a clear photo of your documents, after which you will need to save it in the DG Locker.

  1. First of all log on to DigiLocker.
  2. Go to Uploaded Documents on the left side of the site and click Upload.
  3. Write a brief description about your document.
  4. Click on the upload button.

DigiLocker (Manipuri)







DigiLocker is a key initiative under Digital India, the Indian Government’s flagship program aimed at transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. DigiLocker ties into Digital India’s visions areas of providing citizens a shareable private space on a public cloud and making all documents / certificates available on this cloud.

Targeted at the idea of paperless governance, DigiLocker is a platform for issuance and verification of documents & certificates in a digital way, thus eliminating the use of physical documents. Indian citizens who sign up for a DigiLocker account get a dedicated cloud storage space that is linked to their Aadhaar (UIDAI) number. Organizations that are registered with Digital Locker can push electronic copies of documents and certificates (e.g. driving license, Voter ID, School certificates) directly into citizens lockers. Citizens can also upload scanned copies of their legacy documents in their accounts. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using the eSign facility.

ಡಿಜಿಲಾಕರ್ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾದ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದು ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಸಬಲೀಕೃತ ಸಮಾಜ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಮೋಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಾದ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಮೋಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು / ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾದ ದರ್ಶನ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಡಿಜಿಲಾಕರ್ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.



ಕಾಗದರಹಿತ ಆಡಳಿತದ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು, ಡಿಜಿಲಾಕರ್ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸುವ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಭೌತಿಕ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಡಿಜಿಲಾಕರ್ ಖಾತೆಗೆ ಸೈನ್ ಅಪ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಭಾರತೀಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಆಧಾರ್ (ಯುಐಡಿಎಐ) ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗೆ ಲಿಂಕ್ ಮಾಡಲಾದ ಮೀಸಲಾದ ಕ್ಲೌಡ್ ಶೇಖರಣಾ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಲಾಕರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಲಾದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ ಪ್ರತಿಗಳನ್ನು (ಉದಾ. ಚಾಲನಾ ಪರವಾನಗಿ, ಮತದಾರರ ಗುರುತಿನ ಚೀಟಿ, ಶಾಲಾ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳು) ನೇರವಾಗಿ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಲಾಕರ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ನಾಗರಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪರಂಪರೆ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳ ಸ್ಕ್ಯಾನ್ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಖಾತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪ್‌ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. ಈ ಪರಂಪರೆ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇ-ಸೈನ್ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ವಿದ್ಯುನ್ಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಸಹಿ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.

डिजिटल लॉकर डिजिटल इंडिया के विजन से अभिन्न रूप से जुड़ा है जिसका लक्ष्य है नागरिकों को सार्वजनिक क्लाउड पर साझा करने योग्य निजी जगह देना और इस क्लाउड पर सभी दस्तावेजों / प्रमाणपत्रों उपलब्ध कराना।
कागजरहित सरकारी कामकाज के विचार को ध्यान में रखकर तैयार किया गया डिजिलॉकर एक ऐसा प्लेटफॉर्म है जिससे दस्तावेजों और प्रमाणपत्रों को डिजिटल तरीके से जारी और सत्यापित किया जा सकता है और इस प्रकार यह कागजी स्वरूप में दस्तावेजों के उपयोग की जरूरत समाप्त करता है। डिजिलॉकर खाता के लिए साइन अप करने वाले भारतीय नागरिकों को उनके लिए समर्पित क्लाउड स्टोरेज मिलता है जो उनके आधार (यूआईडीएआई) संख्या से जुड़ा रहता है। डिजिटल लॉकर पर पंजीकृत संगठन दस्तावेजों और प्रमाणपत्रों (उदाहरण के लिए ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस, वोटर आईडी, विद्यालय प्रमाणपत्र) की इलेक्ट्रॉनिक कॉपी को सीधे नागरिकों के लॉकर में डाल सकते हैं। इसके साथ ही, नागरिक अपने खाते में पुराने कागजी दस्तावेजों की स्कैन कॉपी को अपलोड कर सकते हैं। इन पुराने दस्तावेजों को इ-साइन सुविधा के उपयोग से इलेक्ट्रॉनिक तरीके से साइन किया जा सकता है।

Digital India is for ALL

Today in India we have available enough infrastructure, knowledge, exposure and experience needed for the successful practice of Digital India. However the percentage of people who are aware of these resources and applying them in their daily life for professional and personal purposes is very small compared to rest of the population.
Let me give you an example. As part of digital India citizen services suite the Indian government has made available a world class secure digital storage service called Digilocker. Digilocker is open and available to every Indian resident.

Residents can store and share documents securely. However the the number of Indian residents who have created accounts on Digilocker and using it on regular basis is very small. In my opinion every college going student in India should have created account by now and has been using it actively. This needs immediate attention and action.

In order to deliver citizen services online and electronically digital India has developed four  fundamental services 

1. Aadhaar:  An online resident identity system. It enables citizens to prove who they are and where they live online. It does not demand physical presence of the individual to avail a service. Hence it is called Presence-less layer of Digital India

2. Digilocker:  A cloud-based digital  document management system. It enables residents to receive authenticated documents and share them with others online and electronic form. It eliminates the need for paper-based documents. Hence it is called Paper-less Layer of Digital India

3. E-sign- Digital signature system. It enables citizens to upload document and sign them electronically. This is part of paper-less transactions. =

4. UPI- Online transaction system for making and receiving payments. This enables citizens to conduct transactions- making payments and receiving money with out physical cash . Hence it is called cashless layer

DIGITAL INDIA CITIZEN CORE SERVICES: 

A common person  needs some basic services for the smooth conduction of his/her daily transactions.  Digital India provides a  set of digital India services aimed at every resident or citizen are called core services. They are (1)  Digital resident identity - Aadhaar, (2) Cloud Storage - Digilocker, (3) Digital signature - e-sign, (4) Online payments-  BHIM (UPI) 



 NEED FOR ONLINE PAYMENTS

Another important need for resident is to make online payments. Digital India has developed a platform called Unified Payment Interface (UPI). Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant real-time payment system developed by National Payments Corporation of India facilitating inter-bank transactions. The interface is regulated by the Reserve Bank of India and works by instantly transferring funds between two bank accounts on a mobile platform  

BHIM

BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) is a mobile payment App developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), based on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) It  enables fast, secure and reliable payments system that uses smartphones for cashless transactions. 

UPI is open and can be used by others. Google Pay is application based on UPI. 


With the help of these four digital india services, namely Aadhaar, Digilocker, e-Sign and UPI, residents can conduct most of their daily transactions. Hence they called DIGITAL INDIA CORE SERVICES
