Teaching and Learning are two sides of same coin

Teaching and Learning are two sides of same coin

Learning and teaching go hand in hand. They are two sides of the same coin.. Among other things, good teaching demands continued learning. And good learning always in search of some teaching opportunity. A successful professional always has a desire to mentor someone. To be sure, there are no completely teaching tools or completely learning tools. Every learning tool has a teaching side to it and every teaching tool has learning side too. While using a teaching tool teacher is always concerned about its effects on learner, its learning demands and learning benefits.

By learning demands we mean the additional effort a student or a leaner needs to put to make the teaching tool effective. In a similar fashion, every learner, while using a learning tool must consciously ponder over its potentials as a teaching tool. In other words, teaching and learning are not two separate activities although they are distinct ones. (A class has to have two distinct groups learner and teacher). A better word to describe this phenomenon would be "learnteach" or "teachlearn"

Technology is current language

Technology is current language

Tools have played an important role in human life.  Tools have simplified our efforts and amplified results. Our daily  life consists of using tools and words. Today we are using tools as much as we use words. Technology is providing a range of tools for different tasks, the same way language provides words for different purposes. In summary technology is assuming a status of language in our life. Hence I say, Technology is the current language.

Language is the first Technology

Language is the first Technology

Ability to use language is uniquely human characteristic. Ever since humanity invented language , language has enabled human progress. Language has helped us communicate with each other, formulate concepts, ideas and write stories,  keep secrets, share knowledge , express love and anger, appreciate and abuse others and more. An ability to learn and use language is the basic need for any human to be a part of a society.

Language has been a major medium of expressing creativity. ( other mediums include drawing, sculpting and more...).   For most of human history - mastering language and using it as a means of expressing creativity is a major occupation of humans. Epics, poems, novels, stories , limericks, sonnets and more are running examples.

These are the small, but significant and rapidly emerging digital Indians who have deep dreams and tall talent to look at digital India infrastructure and come out with innovative product, services and business models. These solutions could be india-specific to be targeted at a section of Indian society say rural or urban. These services  can be for meeting specific in-transition population  - say people who earn and spend all money in cash. The innovator solution can also be with global focus but may start in India and use Digital india as a test bed.

Digital India- Open APIs for Developers

Under the Digital India initiative, the government has mandated an open API policy for five key programmes, meaning data from these programmes must be made accessible for similar creative use. The emerging solutions could further the cause of financial inclusion and reduce complexities in transactions.
The five programmes are Aadhaar, e-KYC (know your customer), e-Sign (a mechanism for digitally signing documents that is legally accepted), proposed privacy-protected data sharing, and the Unified Payments Interface or UPI, an initiative of the National Payments Corporation of India which will allow fund transfer between banks with the help of a single identifier.

e-Kranti

e-Kranti : National e-Governance Plan 2.0: The national level e-Governance programme called National e-Governance Plan was initiated in 2006. There were 31 Mission Mode Projects under National e-Governance Plan covering a wide range of domains, viz. agriculture, land records, health, education, passports, police, courts, municipalities, commercial taxes, treasuries etc. 24 Mission Mode Projects have been implemented and started delivering either full or partial range of envisaged services. . Considering the shortcomings in National e-Governance Plan that included lack of integration amongst Government applications and databases, low degree of government process reengineering, scope for leveraging emerging technologies like mobile, cloud…etc, Government of India has approved the e-Kranti programme recently with the vision of “Transforming e-Governance for Transforming Governance”.

All new and on-going eGovernance projects as well as the existing projects, which are being revamped, should now follow the key principles of e-Kranti namely ‘Transformation and not Translation’, ‘Integrated Services and not Individual Services’, ‘Government Process Reengineering (GPR) to be mandatory in every MMP’, ‘ICT Infrastructure on Demand’, ‘Cloud by Default’, ‘Mobile First’, ‘Fast Tracking Approvals’, ‘Mandating Standards and Protocols’, ‘Language Localization’, ‘National GIS (Geo-Spatial Information System)’, ‘Security and Electronic Data Preservation’. The portfolio of Mission Mode Projects has increased from 31 to 44 MMPs. Many new social sector projects namely Women and Child Development, Social Benefits, Financial Inclusion, Urban Governance, eBhasha…etc have been added as new MMPs under e-Kranti.
